Who We Are
Our Board of Trustees is comprised of stakeholders in the Dover community that bring a variety of valuable skills to the organization. Here’s a bit of information on each of our Board Members.
Board of Trustees
Board Chair – Jason DeJesus
Jason DeJesus is a lifelong resident of Dover, NJ, and is deeply connected to the town both personally and professionally. He grew up in a family that was involved in various non-profit organizations and operated a local business for over 50 years. This upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work and community engagement, teaching him not only important business skills but also the significance of giving back to his community.
From a young age, Jason was involved in his family’s business, where he learned about commerce and the importance of building strong community connections. This experience provided a solid foundation for his later endeavors and influenced his approach to work and community involvement.
In his professional life, Jason has worked in the legal and technological fields. He has applied his skills to support the operations of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, where he manages resources and leads initiatives that require technical knowledge and organizational skills. Additionally, Jason has followed in his father’s entrepreneurial footsteps and now owns and operates Arrival CrossFit, a health and fitness facility located in Newark, NJ that provides world-class coaching.
Outside of work, Jason is deeply committed to supporting local education and community groups. His work with the Orfilia DeJesus Scholarship Fund and the Dover Educational Foundation highlights his belief in the power of education and his desire to see every student in Dover succeed.
Jason’s story is a testament to his genuine commitment to Dover. His efforts across both his professional and volunteer activities demonstrate a balanced approach to supporting the economic and social fabric of his hometown without seeking the spotlight. His journey illustrates the value of rootedness, hard work, and community service.
Treasurer – Elizabeth Tapia
Elizabeth Tapia is a lifelong resident of Dover whose personal and professional experiences are deeply rooted in the community. Having attended East Dover School, Dover Middle School, and Dover High School, she understands firsthand the impact that strong educational foundations have on the success of Dover’s students and families.
A graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Elizabeth earned her degree cum laude in just three years, reflecting her strong commitment to academic achievement and perseverance. Elizabeth has experience teaching English and developmental skills at the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs, where she worked closely with students and families, reinforcing her belief that education and community support go hand in hand. She is especially passionate about ensuring that all students, as well as Dover residents — regardless of background or financial circumstances — have the resources and encouragement needed to succeed.
Today, she remains focused on giving back to the Dover community by advocating for accessible educational opportunities and financial support for students who are motivated to further their education and invest in their future.
Carlos Caprioli
Carlos Caprioli was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He came to Dover with his family in 1996. His children were raised in Dover and went to Dover schools.
He is a medical doctor. At first, he worked in the Dover School District as a Spanish teacher and Public Relations Director. After a few years, he started working at County College of Morris as an Adjunct Professor in the Biology Department. Currently, he is still teaching at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
He has also worked as a journalist and editor for the Daily Record. He was in charge of the Spanish weekly newspaper “Nuestra Comunidad.” When they discontinued it, he started publishing his own newspapers, “Vocero Latino” and “Latino News.”
For the past twelve years, Carlos Caprioli has worked for the Partnership for Maternal & Child Health, a non for profit organization, as Program Manager of the Excellence Family Success Center. He is now the Senior Manager for Family Success Centers of the same organization.
He loves to work for the Dover community and will continue to do that in the future with the same commitment he dedicated for almost three decades.
Linda Mullin
Linda Mullin is a third generation graduate of Dover High School and her children continue that tradition as a fourth generation. She is committed to the school district and Dover community volunteering and serving on boards throughout the Town and greater community.
As a former educator of 42 years and former Dover Board of Education member, Linda believes in and supports our schools and community. She is dedicated in helping meet the needs of our educational community while working hand in hand with the Dover Board of Education to ensure our school community has the tools for individual and collective success. Collaboration with community organizations and members past and present has a positive impact on our educational community.
Walter F. Rodriguez
Walter F. Rodriguez was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Dover. He’s an artist, having spent most of his professional life working as an actor, director, and in production in theatre, television, and film, including working for The Onion on their Peabody-winning television show, The Onion News Network. He’s also worked in editorial and fashion photography and shot book covers for major publishers like Macmillan Publishers. Walter owns The Seen Shop, a full-service marketing agency that specializes in helping nonprofits engage with their communities.
Having grown up in Dover, the town has always had a special place in his heart and he’s been giving back to the community by teaching art therapy classes at Academy Street Elementary School, Dover High School, and others for the past eight years. He serves on the Executive Committee of Connecting Dover and is on a number of other local nonprofit boards, working to help the community that he cares about so deeply.
Jaclyn Viveros
Jaclyn Viveros was born and raised in Dover. She and her daughter are Dover High School alumni, and her son is currently attending Dover High School.
She holds a very deep connection to Dover, having lived here her entire life. She enjoys being involved in the community and loves to help when and where she is able. Jaclyn has previously served as a Dover Board of Education member and also a member of the Academy Street School PTA for the last several years. She understands how valuable it is to raise funds for students and she is fearless in making a difference for the children of Dover and being her own children’s advocate.
